With the help of Sanofi Pharmaceutical Company, the QI Subcommittee has put together a library of resources designed to educate skilled nursing facilities in the use of a basal/metabolic approach to blood glucose control. Resources include videos, quick reference guides for hyper and hypoglycemia, journal articles on the move away from sliding scale insulin as an on-going clinical management strategy, and a sample care plan for residents with diabetes.
